Doaa Fakher – دعاء فاخر

Born in Cairo, Egypt 1992, Doaa holds a B.A in Specific Education from Cairo University in 2012. She earned a Master’s degree in African Arts from Helwan University in 2020, during which she focused on the most significant challenges that Africa faces. Consequently, her artistic practices expose human feelings through creatures that live within unstable societies to reveal and discuss political as well as social issues. 

She has participated in various national & international exhibitions including; the Youth Salon at Cairo Opera House in 2016 and 2017, the 10th Luxor International Painting Symposium, Dai Arab Youth Festival, “Different Melodies” and “Shuffle” – both at UBUNTU Art Gallery in 2019 and 2021 and she held her first solo exhibition in 2018 at Townhouse Gallery. Her work has also been exhibited with UBUNTU Art Gallery at the contemporary African art fair “1-54” in Marrakech and London both in 2020, as well as AKAA art fair in Paris 2021.  

Fakher has won several awards, including the 28th Youth Salon painting prize, the 10th International Painting Symposium participation award in 2017, and the Salah Taher Award. Doaa’s work is part of Egypt’s Museum of Modern Art collection.  

 فنانة مصرية حصلت على بكالوريوس التربية الفنية بكلية التربية النوعية، جامعة القاهرة عام ٢٠١٢. قامت بعمل دراسات حرة في الجرافيك عام ٢٠١٣ بكلية الفنون الجميلة، جامعة حلوان. حصلت على الدبلوم التكميلي عام ٢٠١٤ بكلية التربية الفنية، جامعة حلوان، وحصلت على درجة الماجستير بقسم الرسم والتصوير بكلية التربية الفنية جامعة حلوان عام ٢٠٢٠.
شاركت الفنانة في العديد من المعارض المحلية، من أهمها مشاركتان في صالون الشباب بقصر الفنون دار الاوبرا المصرية عامي ٢٠١٦ و٢٠١٧، كما شاركت في سمبوزيوم الاقصر الدولى العاشر للتصوير، ومهرجان ضي الثاني للشباب العربى بقاعة ضي عام ٢٠١٨، في نفس العام أيضًا أقيم معرضها الفردي بالتاون هاوس في القاهرة. حصلت على عدد من الجوائز تضمنت جائزة التصوير فى “صالون الشباب ٢٨”، و جائزة المشاركة فى ملتقي الاقصر الدولى عام ٢٠١٧، وجائزة الفنان صلاح طاهر عام ٢٠١٨. ولديها مقتنيات بمتحف الفن المصرى الحديث بدار الاوبرا. شاركت الفنانة في معرض الفن الإفريقي المعاصر “54-1” في مراكش ولندن ٢٠٢٠.
