Eman Hussein – إيمان حسين

Egyptian artist and architect. Born in Cairo, 1986. Eman Hussein, studied architecture at Modern Science and Arts University in Cairo, and received her M.A. from the University of Greenwich, London, also in the field of architecture. Hussein dedicated herself to studying art towards the end of 2010 under the guidance of the renowned Egyptian artist Magd El Sagini, which was a turning point in her career.

Hussein’s style can be described as abstract, yet her composition is influenced by her architectural training exemplified in her work through the interplay of the layering of organic and structured forms. While Hussein, predominately expresses her work through paintings, she recently integrated installations, sculptural objects, and animation.

Hussein‘s art is inspired by a constant reflection on the relationship of the human to the universal, while equally interrogating the conceptual categories of time, movement, and change. She explores issues that relate the atomic scale to the cosmic scale, whilst exploring forms in the process of becoming.

With a keen eye for the different planes of a landscape, Hussein knows how to create dynamic compositions that allow a viewer’s eye to travel between planes. Whether her work is of a group of figures, or simply shapes and patterns, she is able to grasp the visual curiosity of a viewer, holding their attention to the minute details in her pieces. Hussein’s work has been presented in exhibitions both nationally and internationally.

Currently a partner at Alchemy Design Studio & founder of Else architects, a sub-brand of Alchemy, Hussein divides her time between her work and her art exhibitions.

فنانة مصرية ومهندسة معمارية، ولدت في عام ١٩٨٦ في القاهرة، ودرست الهندسة المعمارية في جامعة أكتوبر للآداب والعلوم الحديثة ثم حصلت على درجة الماجستير من جامعة جرينتش- لندن، في مجال الهندسة المعمارية أيضًا

خصصت إيمان الوقت لدراسة الفن بتوجيه من الفنان المصري مجد السجيني حتى نهاية عام ٢٠١٠ وكانت هذه التجربة بمثابة نقطة تحول في حياتها المهنية، ساعدتها بشكل ملحوظ في تطوير تقنياتها بشكل عام سواء في ممارستها للفن التشكيلي أو حتى في مجال الهندسة المعمارية

يمكن وصف أسلوب إيمان حسين بالتجريد لكن يظهر في تكويناتها تأثرها الشديد بالدراسة المعمارية ويتضح ذلك جليًا من خلال تفاعل طبقات الأشكال العضوية والمنظمة بينما تعبرالفنانة عن أعمالها من خلال الرسم و دمجت مؤخرًا بين التجهيز في الفراغ والأعمال النحتية والرسوم المتحركة

وبعناية شديدة وبعين المتخصص في تصميم المسطحات الخضراء الواسعة، تستطيع إيمان أن تُقسم لوحاتها ما بين الخلفية البعيدة والمساحات القريبة بحيث تسمح لعين المشاهد بالسفر بين كل جزء على حده. وسواء أكانت رسوم إيمان حسين عبارة عن مجموعة من الشخصيات، أو أشكال وخطوط بسيطة ، فإنها قادرة على جذب عين المشاهد والاستحواذ على اهتمامه لكل التفاصيل الصغيرة والكبيرة في كل عمل ببساطة شديدة. عُرضت أعمال الفنانة في معارض على الصعيدين المحلي والدولي

بكونها علامة تجارية فرعية لاستديو ألكمي، وتقسم وقتها بين عملها كمديرة فنية وبين اهتمامها بالتواجد على الساحة الفنية التشكيلية المصرية بشكل مستمر ومؤثر
