Eslam Saif El-Nasr -إسلام سيف النصر

Born in 1999, Eslam SaifEl-Nasr is a Cairo based visual artist who holds a BA in Fine Arts. He began his career as an academic painter and instructor, then moved to a full-time contemporary art practice. In 2024 he had his first Solo exhibition Mediocre comedy at Ubuntu art gallery, the same year he won the painting award at the Youth Salon, his work took off, taking place in numerous shows both local and international.

Relying on satire and symbol Eslam’s work is a blend of resistance, bold critique, and ideological inspection, tracing the effect of totalitarianism in history, culture, art, society and politics, and how these effects helped shape the world we live in.

SaifEl-Nasr creates works saturated with imagery, text, colour, and texture, as he works through an extended range of mediums from paintings to installations, drawing references from street art, art history and everyday life, echoing the street life, poverty, and violence, giving his viewers an emotionally saturated visual experience.

إسلام سيف النصر (مواليد، ١٩٩٩القاهرة) باحث ثقافي وفنان بصري حصل على درجة البكالوريوس في الفنون الجميلة عام ٢٠٢٢ وبدأ مسيرته المهنية عام ٢٠٢٠ كرسام ومدرس فنون أكاديمية، ثم انتقل للعمل كفنان معاصر. في عام ٢٠٢٤ أقام أول معرض فردي له بعنوان “كوميديا ميديوكر” في قاعة أوبونتو للفنون، وهو العام نفسه الذي حصل فيه على جائزة التصوير في صالون الشباب، كما شاركت اعماله في عدد من العروض المحلية والدولية.

يعمل إسلام من خلال طيف واسع من الوسائط بين التقليدية والتجريبية، تتسم اعماله بحس ساخر، متهكم حيث ينتقد تناقضات الأنظمة الشمولية السائدة في العالم وما تخلقه من بيئات حياة شديدة الطبقية.

تتحدى اعماله فكرة “الفن الجميل” ويتلاعب بجذورها من خلال استخداماته للمواد المختلفة على أسطح الرسم، وتكوين اشكال وملامس غير مستقرة، محققاً تجارب بصرية مثيرة للمشاعر، تعكس حياة الشارع وسياقات الفقر، العشوائية، والعنف، محاولا ان يكون صورة لها.
