Samir El Messiry

سمير المسيرى  (١٩٤١-٢٠١٤)

محمد سمير أحمد بدر المسيرى فنان تشكيلي متخصص في التصوير؛ ولد في ٢٠ يناير عام ١٩٤١ بالقاهرة، حصل على بكالوريوس كلية الاقتصاد والعلوم السياسية جامعة الإسكندرية عام 1967

تتلمذ «سمير المسيرى» على يد أدهم وانلي، وسيف وانلي من جيل الفن التشكيلي السكندري الثرى، حيث حصل على دبلوم معهد أدهم وانلي للرسم والتصوير عام 1967. فعاصر فترة الازدهار في وجود نوابغ في هذا المجال كان لهم عطاء مميزا في الحركة التشكيلية السكندرية والمصرية.

كرس «سمير المسيرى» حياته للفن منذ نعومة اظافره، وظهرت موهبته المبكرة في الرسم في طفولته وصباه، ظل ملازما لأستاذه المصور السكندرى الشهير «سيف وانلى». لم يلتزم سمير المسيرى بأسلوب خاص لإحدى المدارس الفنية، كما أنه لم يلتزم إلا ببعض إتجاهات أستاذه. كان المسيري عضوًا عاملًا بنقابة الفنانين التشكيليين وعضو جماعة الفنانين والكتاب بأتيليه الإسكندرية. أقام معارض فردية وجماعية متعددة منذ عام ١٩٦٧ وحتى عام ٢٠١٠ في مؤسسات مختلفة مثل قصر ثقافة الأنفوشي، المركز الثقافي الإسباني، مركز محمود سعيد وقاعة جوجان بالقاهرة والإسكندرية، كما شارك في فعاليات ومعارض محلية عديدة. حصل على جوائز محلية من بينها الجائزة الثانية بمسابقة الفنون التشكيلية للثقافة الجماهيرية عام ١٩٧٤ والجائزة الأولى بمهرجان الإسكندرية الثقافي الأول ١٩٦٧، توفي الفنان سمير المسيري في شهر فبراير عام ٢٠١٤.  توجد أعماله في مقتنيات خاصة داخل مصر وخارجها.

Samir Al-Messiry (1941–2014)

Mohammad Samir Ahmed Badr Al-Messiry was a visual artist specializing in painting; he was born on 20 January 1941 in Cairo and earned a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Alexandria University in 1967. Samir Al-Messiry studied under Adham Wanly and Seif Wanly, members of the rich generation of Alexandrian modern painters, and received a diploma from the Adham Wanly Institute of Painting and Drawing in 1967. He witnessed the flourishing period of Alexandrian and Egyptian art and devoted his life to art from an early age, showing talent in painting throughout his childhood and youth, and remained closely connected to his renowned Alexandrian mentor Seif Wanly.

He did not adhere to a single artistic school or style, and only partially followed some tendencies of his teacher. Al-Messiry was an active member of the Syndicate of Fine Artists and of the Artists and Writers Group at the Alexandria Atelier. He held solo and group exhibitions from 1967 to 2010 at venues such as Al-Anfoushi Cultural Palace, the Spanish Cultural Center, the Mahmoud Said Center, and Gougan Hall in Cairo and Alexandria, and participated in numerous local events and exhibitions. He received local awards including the second prize in the Popular Culture Fine Arts competition in 1974 and the first prize at the First Alexandria Cultural Festival in 1967. The artist died in February 2014, and his works are held in private collections in Egypt and abroad.
