Sayeda Khalil – سيدة خليل

Sayeda Khalil is an Egyptian artist born in 1970. She studied at the faculty of Art Education, Helwan University and is keen on exploring the correlations between science and technology through sculpture work. Sayeda has done extensive research and studies that revolve around the concepts of sculpting in the fields of art education. She also holds a number of degrees, and currently works as a professor of sculpture creation at the faculty of Art Education, Helwan University. She has participated in many art workshops both locally and internationally, as well as art competitions and exhibitions. She has been awarded numerous prizes of sculpting in Egypt that celebrate her art and research-based journey.
Her first experimentations early on in her artistic career began with using different mediums to further explore her capabilities as a sculptor and enhance her technical and artistic skill.

In 1995, Sayeda was immersed in the studies of light and how it reacts and moves through different mediums, surfaces, and spaces. Her experimental project, where she used laser light as a main element, was exhibited in the 12^th Youth Salon in 2000. Her first ever holographic project using white light volume hologram was presented in collaboration with the National Institute of Laser Science in Cairo.

Her work is primarily focused on the formation of space and transparent matter, as a conclusion and realization of how crucial the two components are in building sculptural work, and that those transparent elements with their repetitions, shadows and reflections create an ethereal world of shapes and shadows in empty spaces. She was interested in using different techniques and methods of installing and assembling the two elements while using magnifying and distorting lenses for the inverted image.

In the past decade, Sayeda concentrated on creating sculptures out of acrylic sheets, copper, wood and bronze, which she exhibited in Ubuntu Art Gallery. They explored human bonds, relationships, issues and carry an abundance of human interpretations through the use of different techniques of installation, assembly and mixing primary geometric shapes with primitive human construction to shift our views and rethink the significance of objects.
Her works are showcased in the Egyptian Museum of Modern Art along with other private art institutions, also owned by art collectors in Egypt and abroad.

فنانة مصرية مواليد 1970 ، درست النحت في كلية التربية الفنية جامعة حلوان ، وأهتمت في دراستها بعد التخرج بعلاقة العلم والتكنولوجيا بالنحت ، وقدمت العديد من الأبحاث والدراسات حول مفاهيم النحت في مجال التربية الفنية ، وتدرجت في عديد من الدرجات العلمية، وتعمل حاليًا استاذًا للنحت بكلية التربية الفنية ، وشاركت في العديد من ورش العمل المحلية والدولية والمعارض والمسابقات الفنية، كما حصلت على العديد من الجوائز العلمية والفنية في مجال النحت بمصر عن أعمالها الفنية والبحثية، ولها مقتنيات لدى متحف الفن الحديث بمصر وبعض المؤسسات الخاصة وبعض الأفراد بمصر والخارج. قدمت “سيدة خليل” في بداية مشوارها الفني أعمالاً نحتية بأساليب متعددة اهتمت فيها بالتجريب في العديد من الخامات واكتشاف امكانياتها في النحت ما أكسبها خبرات ممارسة متعددة في مشوارها الفني .

اهتمت “سيده خليل” منذ عام 1995 بدراسة الضوء وعلاقاته بالخامات المختلفة ووسائل انتشاره وتحريكه في الفراغ فقدمت أول تجربة فنية لاستخدام ضوء الليزر laser light في أعمال النحت المصري المعاصر والتي عرضت في صالون الشباب الثاني عشر عام 2000 ، كما قدمت أول تجربة للتصوير الهولوجرافي holography (white light volume hologram ) في مصر بالمشاركة مع المعهد القومي لعلوم الليزر بالقاهرة.

تناولت “سيده خليل” في أعمالها تشكيل الفراغ ، والخامات الشفافة وذلك لإدراكها بأهمية الفراغ في العمل النحتي وأن تلك العناصر الشفافة بتكراراتها وظلالها وانعكاساتها تصنع عالمًا أثيريًا من الأشكال والظلال في الفراغ فاهتمت بتقنيات وأساليب تركيب هذه العناصر وتجميعها واستخدام العدسات المكبرة والمشوهة للصورة المعكوسة .

بينما في العشر سنوات الأخيرة ركزت ” سيده خليل” من خلال معارضها في جاليري أوبونتو على الاهتمام في منحوتاتها بشكل خاص بالعلاقات والقضايا الإنسانية والتجريب المتعدد للوسائط المختلفة التي تحمل بعض من المعاني الإنسانية التي استخدمت فيها تقنيات للتركيب والتجميع من خلال المزج بين الأشكال الهندسية الأولية وبناء الإنسان البدائي حيث تتغير نظرتنا للأشياء ونعيد التفكير في ما تحمله من دلالة.
